Day 23 – 18 January 2013. Eco Camp back to Punta Arenas.

Today we leave Eco Camp, breaky at civilised 8.30 or thereabouts – Patagonian time. Back to PA, it will be nice to have a relaxing bus day, bit stiff and sore and snuffled up.

Got up to see off our friends doing the 7 day hike, plus Carly who was joining them for the walk to the Towers today. 22km UP and a very warm day. A lovely bunch of people.

Then a leisurely breaky before packing up, then a little time to sit and contemplate before catching the bus back.

We travelled with Dianne and Glen from Colorado, another lovely couple. While you see some whingers and annoying people, we have been really fortunate not to be stuck with any of them.

Had a couple of great nana naps on the bus.

Stopped at Puerto Natales and had lunch at “Almeda” again. Saw lots of Nandu (ostriches) on way back plus cattle, sheep and some flamingos. Arrived in Punta Arenas about 5.30 after dropping Glen and Dianne at the Aeropuerto. Once checked in we did a bit of online stuff re flights etc, then wandered to the pet shop, pharmacia (for cough drops) and had a yummy early tea of pizza.

Farewell Torres del Paine, loved the clouds in this shot.

A bird we saw at Puerto Natales, we had seen them at TdP but couldn't get a photo.

Pet shop - Punta Arenas - a Chinchilla

Some terrapins.

Iguanas.
